10 Questions with... War Tapes 1. What bands did you listen to as a kid? we've all been influenced by different styles of music growing up. what got us into playing music together was the combined love of so many genres and their influences became the foundation of our music, especially the punk, post punk, new wave, and brit pop movements. 2. What's the first concert you ever attended? neil- tom petty and the heartbreakers becca- tom petty and the heartbreakers william- u2 matt- fugazi 3. How do you prepare for a show? Any specific things you do to get in the right headspace? hang out together. we think it's important to be a unit before we take the stage. 4. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever done at a show? Asked our entire band to sign her boobs, Becca included. 5. What's the worst job you've ever had? Neil - Pizza delivery man in Los Angeles. That's a real bummer. Becca- i can't say william- cleaning toilets and people's vomit matt- plumber 6. What's your favorite thing to do besides play music?
Neil - DJ, hang out at local dive bars William - Skateboard and paint Matt - go to art galleries and screen print t-shirts Becca - Design Fashion Accessories and play with my dogs 7. What's your favorite song ever - your 'theme song'? there are lots of favorites that we have, we pretty much have a few ipod playlists that have become standards on the road. we usually fight over who's ipod gets played first. 8. What would we find in your refrigerator right now? Neil - Sugar, 1 Bud Light, condiments I wouldn't recommend eating, that's seriously it honestly. Becca- vegan bacon and other non-meat related items William- soy ice cream and veggies matt- fresh produce from local farmers and homemade pesto 9. If you could make mass produce a t-shirt with your own slogan on it, what would that slogan be? "War Tapes" 10. What's the most exciting thing that's happened to you so far? Neil - Flying to england to go on tour for the first time is right up there for me.
