10 Questions with... Ian Shane Tyler
1. What bands did you listen to as a kid?
Technically, I think I'm still considered a kid, I'm only 20, but I was pretty big on Greenday, Weezer, Nirvana, and Pennywise when I was about 14. 2. What's the first concert you ever attended?
That's a tough one. I remember the first concert I really enjoyed was Ben Kweller at the HOB, I was 16. 3. How do you prepare for a show? Any specific things you do to get in the right headspace?
Plenty of Alcohol works pretty well. 4. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever done at a show?
I probably do weirder things than the fans, But one time I played a 13 year old girls birthday party. And during the show they all came on stage and danced. I felt like such a pop tart. This one girl just kept looking at me and screaming high pitch, it was so high pitch... 5. What's the worst job you've ever had?
I work at a music store on the side, it's pretty okay. But my real work is in the studio. I am working on 3 bands right now, and one more potentially. 6. What's your favorite thing to do besides play music?
I'm pretty big on science, and cooking. I like to drive around Las Vegas a lot, or build things. But most times you'll find me pondering about this or that, and the universe. I will solve the Rubik's cube one day, I will! 7. What's your favorite song ever - your 'theme song'?
God, I find it so hard to have favorites, of anything, but I'll give it a shot just for mishmash magazine. I guess the first song that comes to mind is "Say It Ain't So" by Weezer. That song inspired my sonic palette for years. 8. What would we find in your refrigerator right now?
Left over Bow tie Pasta in Vodka sauce. The Mushrooms and Sausage seemed to disappear sometime between after I was done cooking it and when the rest of my family found it, hmm. 9. If you could make mass produce a t-shirt with your own slogan on it, what would that slogan be?
Hard Question. I have so much I want to say, its hard to sum it up into one little slogan. The 3rd entry in the dictionary for slogan reads "A battle cry of a Scottish clan." 10. What's the most exciting thing that's happened to you so far?
Probably being born. Thats pretty exciting. If I wasn't ever born, I wouldn't exist. And existing is pretty awesome. Although I couldn't be born without the universe. Thank you Big Bang. 10.5 Your MySpace and other website links: www.myspace.com/ianshanetyler
