Happy Birthday Sonic! With Sonic’s 20th Anniversary today, we can look forward to the new sountrack release, the collectible statue, and the first Demo of Sonic Generations available for, you guessed it, 20 days. Somewhere along the line something changed Sonic.

Kinect Lets Players Yell At Ads

Microsoft has just announced a new form of ad developed for the Kinect system called “natural user interface ads” or NUads. These New Ads (haha I get it, it’s a pun) allow the player to interact with the ad in several ways, the strangest being tweeting the ad by shouting “Xbox, Tweet!” like it was a golden retriever or that pet messenger thing from Torchlight

In his Father’s Day Pledge, the President urged American fathers to own up to their “personal responsibility to do right by their kids” which somehow translated into “encourage them to turn off the video games and pick up a book.” On the opposite side of Bizzaro world, Al Gore was the star speaker at the 2011 Games for Change event in NY this week and had a lot to say on the worth and future of the gaming industry

Valve to Release Free to Play Game

Valve, who is responsible for Steam, has announced that they are going to be coming out with a free-to-play game. My only worry is that this may just be another ploy to take money from gamers by enticing them with a great game and telling them its free, only to have 3/4 of the content locked unless they pay
