Bethesda Softworks and Obsidian Entertainment have teamed up to create the sequel to 2008′s critically acclaimed RPG Fallout 3. In Fallout: New Vegas, the latest entry in the long-running franchise, they’ve decided to bring a star-studded cast of voice talent on board. A significant number of those famous actors have been announced recently, and some of them may surprise you.
Ron Perlman returns as the much-loved narrator, a role he’s played many times before. Matthew Perry of “Friends”-fame will be filling the shoes of a character named Benny, a smooth-talking, two-faced gangster. And Wayne Newton himself will sink his teeth into the role of “Mr. New Vegas,” the radio DJ of the Mojave Wasteland.
But if that’s not enough for you, you’ll also be able to recruit a few famous people as allies on your post-apocalyptic journey. Danny Trejo, who has appeared in such classics as “From Dusk Till Dawn” and “The Devil’s Rejects,” will be available as Raul the Ghoul, a mechanic and former gun-slinger. Zach Levi, known from his starring role on “Chuck,” will appear as Arcade, a member of the Followers of the Apocalypse. And one of my personal favorites (as I’m sure she is for many of you) Felicia Day will provide the voice for Veronica, a sarcastic Brotherhood of Steel scribe.
Rounding out the announced actors are such industry luminaries as William Sadler, Michael Dorn, Kris Kristofferson, John Doman, and Rene Auberjonois.
Fallout: New Vegas is currently slated for a North American release on October 19th, 2010.
