Katy Perry’s kitty-cat inspired fragrance, Purr, is set to launch in November at Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com. The 25-year-old-pop star knows how to ride the fame train. Riding off the popularity of her upcoming nuptials to actor, Russell Brand, coming off the success of her hit-single “California Gurls,” and awaiting the upcoming release of her newest album, it’s the perfect time for Perry to rake in the dough.
The kitty-shaped bottle, which will run for about 45 bucks, was said to be inspired by Katy’s favorite catwoman costume (pictured). But instead of smelly like something straight out of a Hello Kitty store, the singer used Japanese influences for her first celebrity fragrance. She told WWD that she’s “very influenced by the Japanese world and all things completely cute… so if there are little dancing strawberries, I will be happy. Peppermint is cute; cotton candy is adorable.” The fragrance is said to include top notes of peach nectar, forbidden apple and green bamboo; a heart of jasmine blossom, pink freesia and Bulgarian rose, and a drydown of vanilla orchid, white amber, creamy sandalwood and musk, all packed into one 3.4 oz cat bottle.
Meanwhile, fans are anxiously waiting the release of her new album Teenage Dreams on August 24, which is said to be scented as well! “We went through every detail – it even smells like cotton candy!” Perry said. The cover art for the album, was released yesterday on Ustream, and includes Perry posing in the buff atop some pink cotton candy clouds which are said to smell exactly like the sugary treat when you take a sniff.
