Refining the art of adapting video game music with metal and taking it to new levels, Metroid Metal hones its sights on the specific retro title that is their namesake. Instead of covering the board of 8-bit classics, the band has taken various tracks from the entire history of Metroid games and adapted them into their unique blend of metal. The result is an intricate and technical display of the musical genre that pays homage to the haunting sounds of the planets Zebes and SR388. MishMash caught up with the head of the project, Grant Henry, as he prepares to unveil the new album, Varia Suite, to 60,000 gaming fans at the first ever Penny Arcade East.
