10 QUESTIONS with STEREOS

Posted on July 12th, 2010 By Under: Music Tags: ,

Stereos are a Canadian that fuse hip-hip and pop to form their brand of pop-rock. In March 2010, the band received two Juno Award nominations – Best New Artist and Best Pop Album.

10 Questions with Stereos singer Pat K...

1. First concert you ever attended?

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

2. How do you prepare for a show? Any specific things you do to get in the right headspace?

The band all gets together and goes through 4 or 5 different stupid chants that we make up in the van on long drives.  We sound ridiculous but it gets everyone in the right mood to get up and go on stage.

3. What image do you think your music conveys?

Our music is completely about having a good time.  We make songs that we like to hear and hope people can take something positive from that.

4. What’s your favorite thing to do besides play music?

Absolutely anything to do with NFL football. NHL and NBA playoffs are ok too when the NFL season’s over I guess.

5. What are some of your pet peeves?

The little seeds that get in the way when you cut green peppers, Jets fans, and when people decide to throw a “The” before our band name for fun

6. How would you define the word “success”?

For us success is doing what we love as part of our everyday lives. It means we’re happy and you can’t really ask for more than that.

7. If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

X-Ray Vision, obviously

8. If you could make mass produce a t-shirt with your own slogan on it, what would that slogan be?

“When I pull up to the club, all the shawtys be like ‘Damn! 28s!’ “. It’s a T-Pain lyric, but it really speaks to me cuz it’s my life in a nutshell.

9. What’s the most exciting thing that’s happened to you so far?

Getting to drop everything to go on tour and write music.  Or seeing the AFC Championship game in Indianapolis last year.

10. What are your up-to-date performance plans?  New releases?  Tours? News?

Just touring and writing as much as possible and in band news, our drummer Aaron is currently contemplating wearing Ugg boots full time which is obviously kind of troubling to some of us.  Our guitar player Miles already does and it just has not gone over well.  We will keep you posted on how this pans out…
