Liars & Cheats Pack Coming For Red Dead

For all you bad-ass banditos with a trigger finger that’s still itching, Rockstar‘s got a new content pack coming down the pipe on September 21^st for Red Dead Redemption. Called the “Liars & Cheats Pack,” it’s going to focus primarily on expanding the free roam multiplayer experience, as well adding new modes to competitive multiplayer. But don’t let that fool you into thinking the single-player experience is being left high and dry, because that’ll be getting a few goodies as well.

Rockstar announced that the Liars & Cheats Pack will also contain the content from what was originally announced as the “Free Roam Pack.” The Free Roam pack was intended to be a no-cost giveaway for players, but apparently the respective platform networks impose a limitation on developers concerning how much free downloadable content they can distribute. Because of this, Rockstar simply took the content and added it as an extra bonus one gets for purchasing the Liars & Cheats Pack.

The following are the features announced for this DLC so far.

Multiplayer Poker and Liars’ Dice Games: One of the most fan-requested features comes to multiplayer.

Multiplayer Horse Races: Ride out against your friends and foes online – with mounted combat, guns blazing.

The Explosive Rifle: An devastatingly destructive new weapon with its own new single-player and multiplayer challenges.

7 New Gang Hideouts: Posse up and take on the new Hideouts together to level up quickly.

4 New Hunting Grounds: New Hunting Grounds are now visible on the map for all to see, with some of the most action-packed wildlife hunting yet.

Stronghold Competitive Multiplayer Mode: Teams take turns in attack and defense in multi-tiered competitive games. Posse Scoring and Leaderboards. Compare stats with other posses and compete to see who are the kings of the Free Roam frontier.

Additionally, 15 new multiplayer characters are being pulled straight from the storyline and added to the mix. And you’ll also have a new collection of trophies and achievements to strive for.

The Liars & Cheats Pack is being released on September 21^st, 2010 on both Xbox Live and the Playstation Network. The planned cost is 800 Microsoft Points, or $9.99.
