Web-slingin’ its way onto home consoles in September, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions promises to let gamers fill the boots of their favorite Marvel wall-crawler through four separate incarnations.
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions sets up a storyline penned by comic book writer Dan Slott, in which the boundaries between dimensions have been broken down, and only Spidey has the chops to save the day.
This allows gamers to step into the roles of various different versions of Spider-Man as he’s been depicted in numerous separate comic series. And not only that, but to also travel to those different realms and time periods, all of which will be depicted as separate worlds with unique art styles.
The four versions of Spidey you’ll be able to play are Amazing Spider-Man, in his traditional red and blue tights, Spider-Man 2099, with his more extreme and futuristic outfit, Spider-Man Noir, taking place in the 1930′s with an emphasis on stealth-based action, and Ultimate Spider-Man, dressed to the nines in his black symbiote costume.
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is being made by Beenox Studios. They plan to have versions of the game available for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo DS. And the current North American release date is set for September 9th, 2010.
