Katy Perry and Russell Brand are one of the hottest couples in the media for their ability to stand out – Perry with her neon colored hair and Brand with his ridiculous attitude. Such an interesting couple would have to provide each other with equally as interesting of gifts, right? Right.
For his big 35th birthday, Brand was given a $200,000 trip to space by his popstar fiancé, who presented the gift in a space outfit. Perry surprised the comedian while they were out celebrating his birthday with friends. The singer even made her soon-to-be hubby a cake with the British flag on it!
Brand will be flying aboard Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic space ship, where he will travel “more than 365,000 feet straight into the Earth’s atmosphere at a speed three times faster than the speed of sound,” according to a representative for the company. Passengers will then be able to float weightlessly around the cabin.
However, the trip won’t be all fun and games. The funny man is reportedly required to complete 2-3 days of training before he can make the voyage into outer space. “Luckily he has plenty of time,” said the representative, “since the spacecraft is still in testing stages.”
If this is the sort of gift that Perry is going to dish out for a birthday, there’s no telling what Brand’s gonna get for a wedding present.
