Here’s the thing: If you’re going to a movie premiere, which is advertised as being at Grauman’s Chinese Theater, and it ends up being at the Mann 6, you know it’s hard times for your movie. I’m just saying. If you happened to be starring in said movie and noticed the downgrade in location, one would think you’d be nice, scratch that, NICER to your fans. One would think. That is, unless you’re Elisabeth Shue. Apparently, having a big career twenty plus years ago entitles you to be rude and indifferent to your loyal fans.
But that’s neither here nor there. Piranha: 3D premiered in Hollywood on Wednesday, August 18th at the Mann 6 theaters on Hollywood and Highland. The first person on the red carpet was Bridget Marquardt (one of Hugh Hefner’s ex-girlfriends) who was neither in the movie nor attending the premiere; apparently she’s just never seen a red carpet she didn’t like. I found it a bit amusing that she walked the red carpet, then got her popcorn and entered a different theater. Hilarious.
The next people to arrive at the movie were Jerry O’Connell (aka the main star of the movie other than Elisabeth Shue) and his wife, Rebecca Romjin. Both were extremely friendly and nice and, despite being rushed to the red carpet, found time to pose with me for a picture. Loved that about them.

The next people came in fairly quickly after that: Steven McQueen, Jessica Szohr, Kelly Brook, J.J. Abrams, and Adam Scott. As the movie was set to start at 6:30 and it was close to 7, I thought Elisabeth may be ditching out on her own premiere. This, however, was not the case. She just decided to cut it so close that she left absolutely no time to sign autographs or pose for pictures. When I made the mistake of trying for one, she turned her head. Um, excuse me?
I’d always had this fantasy that Elisabeth would be nice, so seeing her not be even the slightest bit pleasant was upsetting to me. She did promise a few fans that she’d do autographs when she left, but after the film she tried to sneak out the back. Look, take pictures/do autographs if you want, but don’t say you will and then try to sneak out. That’s rather tacky, don’t you think?
I’m not sure how the movie was, as I was mainly lurking outside, but the entire cast stayed for the film, and everyone was nice except for Elisabeth and the model Kelly Brook (who apparently goes spontaneously deaf when you call her name). I told Adam Scott, who is always amazing to his fans, that he should teach his co-stars a thing or two about being nice to fans. He apologized on their behalf. I love him.
The biggest surprise of the night? J.J. Abrams. Here’s one of the greatest and most creative minds of our time and he’s the kindest, sweetest man alive. Now he could give some tips to Elisabeth. Do you think she’d listen?
