Ben Kingsley Star Ceremony Report + Photos!

I’m heading down to Hollywood Blvd once again. I feel like that’s a reoccurring theme in my life these days, anyway, Mr. Ben Kinsley (or Sir Ben Kingsley) is getting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Bruce Willis is supposed to be a surprise guest and I have a Die Hard poster for him and some Prince of Persia items from Mr. Ben Kingsley since he didn’t sign at the premiere… Grumble… Anyway off I go…

11:15 a.m. – I just got here; I know, I know I’m usually here way before this but I just didn’t feel like waiting all day.  Ah well….

11:19 a.m. – It is hot!  Megan is supposed to join me, but she is… wait for it… running late!  Who knew…?

11:21 a.m. – There are a lot of people here.  Tourists love to watch these star ceremonies…

11:24 a.m. – I brought my Prince of Persia poster that I got Jake on at the premiere, and I have my Die Hard poster for Bruce Willis who is a guest today.  The chances of Bruce signing are slim and he is quite known for being one of the biggest jerks in Hollywood.  But you never know…

11:27 a.m. – Ben and Bruce are both here now… There are about 8 other collectors here… Jerry Bruckheimer is here as well.  He’s a special speaker…

11:31 a.m. – Okay things are getting started….

11:35 a.m. – Jerry is giving his speech now… Usually they have a couple guest speakers… but today they only have one… who knew…

11:39 a.m. – Ben is giving his speech now… He seems like a gentleman… hopefully he will sign after… I have never been to a star ceremony where the recipient did not sign (except for Dennis Hopper, but he was near death)… but you just never know….

11:46 a.m. – Wow, that was the shortest star ceremony I have even seen!  Like 15 minutes!  Usually it’s like a half hour…

11:51 a.m. – We are calling out to Bruce after he finished doing pictures… He looked over and scoffed at my poster… I mean he scoffed and turned his head.  Dude, I guess his reputation is warranted.

11:56 a.m. – Bruce scoffed at me… grumble… What a jerk…

12:04 p.m. – Everyone is milling around and talking… We are now calling out to Ben who waves… Oh my God, now he’s not going to come over either!  Seriously!

12:09 p.m. – Jerry Bruckheimer just signed, that was cool… not worth hauling my ass down to Hollywood for, but still cool of him.

12:13 p.m. – We are calling to Ben again.  Bruce is leaving… What an ass…

12:16 p.m. – Oh my God… now Ben is leaving without signing!  Can you believe this crap!

12:19 p.m. – One guy runs over and gets him to sign a Gandhi poster, and then he jumps in the car.  Dude, that’s so lame… What the hell man, I have never… NEVER been to a star ceremony where the recipient did not sign.  I mean that’s just… Just rude… Harrumph!  I’m going home… No Baja for me!  That’ll show em’ lol… Ah well. What can you do right?
