It is a bright and beautiful sunny Cali day… ah… the perfect time to… stand in an ally and wait for Zachary Quinto!  Hmmm is that right?  Ah, let’s just say it is.  Zach is taping a television performance to promote the new Star Trek film, and the lovely Erica and I are hoping to get him to sign our Star Trek posters that we received at Comic Con last year… I think it was Comic Con at least, ah well, who can remember all those details?  Anyway, on with the story…

3:36 p.m. – I just arrived and already there are about 7-8 people already here.  I figured there might be a lot of collectors here seeing as this movie has been so heavily promoted.  Erica is going to join me in a bit.  She is in town from Chicago and here for two week this time!

3:49 p.m. – I was just told that this was a late taping.  Great.  That means more waiting in the ally.  Thank God today is beautiful outside!

4:16 p.m. – And Ms. Erica finally decides to join us! We both have matching Star Trek posters, although I also have one that is from the summer before last.  I’m deciding which one to get done, or if I can get both.

4:29 p.m. – Erica only has the one poster, and she brought something from Heroes as well.  I have my Heroes poster and need Zach on it, but I don’t want to waste the autograph on that, I would much rather get Star Trek done.  I really do have high hopes for the new movie and I’m hoping not to get disappointed.

4:54 p.m. – I have to call everyday for Jury Duty this week, and so far so good. I have to call in like six minutes to see if I have to report tomorrow.  I so do not want to go!  Ugh…

5:01 p.m. – Okay, I’m waiting to call because I figure if I wait a little after five maybe my name won’t get picked.  I know that’s probably stupid but you never know right?  Right?  Sigh…

5:11 p.m. – There is some commotion.  One of the collectors decided to draw Zach a picture for a present.  He sketched the Star Trek poster of Spock and is planning on giving it to him. I’m trying to be nice so I will not comment.  Okay, I have to comment, I think that might just be a tad bit odd… Who’s with me?

5:22 p.m. – I have to report for Jury Duty tomorrow… DAMN IT!

5:39 p.m. – I’m still ticked.  Poor Erica is getting the brunt of my Jury Duty anger!

5:58 p.m. – it should be getting to be about the time people start to arrive.  Sigh… there are no signs of Zach though.  It sucks that we are just starting this poster seeing as I have already met half the cast over the years.  That kind of ticks me off, but what can you do right?

6:22 p.m. – I have to be downtown L.A. at 7:45 a.m.!  I don’t do mornings… this is so going to suck!

6:34 p.m. – Thank God the people here are not being as obnoxious as they usually are.  I will say however there are about 30 people here, which kind of sucks!  It’s always hard to get good signatures when there are 30 people climbing all over each other to get things signed.  It becomes a mad house!

6:44 p.m. – This night is going later and later… ugh… with my 7:45 a.m. call looming on the horizon I am not in the best of moods. Still, it is a lovely night, and I must continue to look at the positive side of things.

7:02 p.m. – Oh, the gate is opening… Zach has just arrived.  Very cool.  Everyone is calling him over; he waves and walks right inside.  Sigh… that means we will probably be here for at least another hour or two… wonderful.

7:06 p.m. – Holy crap, Zach just came back outside to sign for us.  I’ve never seen anyone go inside and then come back out again.  He is starting to do the full line, and thank God both Erica and I are in the front.  That’s usually a pretty good spot.  His handlers are being careful that he only signs one per person.

7:09 p.m. – Oh, he is right almost in front of me now.  I asked him to sign my poster in silver which he is happy to do, and I got it personalized to Mike.  He took the time to write all the best as well, and wrote his full name.  Very nice.  Erica also got him on her poster as well, but she did not get it personalized.  He signed for most of the line and then had to go back inside.  He would not do pictures though.
