Shorts Premiere Signing Report!

It is a lazy Saturday afternoon, so what do I do… haul my ass down to Hollywood CA to catch a glimpse at the “Shorts” premiere.  There are a few cool names, but I really am after Kat Dennings who was in one of my Favorite movies, Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist.  Anyway, she’s in the movie, as well as Jon Cryer, Leslie Mann, and director Robert Rodriguez is also supposed to attend.  So, off we go!

11:00 a.m. – I thought arrivals were supposed to be at one, but then I checked again and alas they begin at noon.  Sigh, so I just got here to Hollywood.  Still, there are only a few collectors here, which is nice…

11:10 a.m – They are setting up for a pre party before the movie begins.  Hot Dog on a Stick… mmmm Hot Dogs…

11:15 a.m. – I just realized a friend of mine is working the premiere, so I gave him a call.  He just ran across the street and we got to catch up for a few minutes.  He told me Kat is definitely on the list, so that’s cool.  I also brought my Pretty in Pink insert for Jon Cryer and my faculty DVD for Robert Rodriguez.

11:27 a.m. – Today is actually a beautiful day, and there are only a few tourists watching the premiere happen.  It’s kind of fun when there are not tons of collector’s pushing and shoving you all around.  Ugh, that is one thing I really hate.

11:33 a.m. – I just got a text from the best editor in the world Ms. M’Lou Elkins.  She’s still sleeping.  I got some story about a late night of interviews for this website called Mishmashmagazine.com. Maybe you’ve heard of it?  I think she’s lying and just wants to sleep!  I kid, I kid…

11:39 a.m. – They actually closed half the street off for this premiere which kind of surprised me.  It’s a good thing but kind of surprising.

11:55 a.m. – It’s almost noon, and arrivals should happen any minute.  My friend is across the street sporting his yellow “Shorts” T-shirt.  LOL… I’m trying to get my camera to focus in, but I think I need a different one cause this zoom lens just doesn’t cut it anymore.

12:05 p.m. – Oh and arrivals are beginning.  Jon Cryer just pulled up and people are shouting for him.  He waves, and mouths that he will be over in a second.  I have never met Jon but heard he is a super nice guy.

12:19 p.m. – Jon is coming over, and very friendly.  I got him on my Pretty in Pink and the guy next to him got him on his Pretty in Pink vinyl.  Ah, I love vinyl.  Jon really spends a lot of time talking to fans, and taking pics.  That’s always so nice to see.

12:35 p.m. – There are a lot of kids in this movie.  LOL… I mean they are arriving by the truck load; it’s like Disneyland over there!  And up pulls Robert Rodriguez!  He’s coming over and signing on the other end of the barricades.  He seems really nice, and is posing for pics with fans and everything.

12:43 p.m. – It looks like he is going to head back, when people from our side call him over.  He comes over to us and I got him on my faculty DVD.  He’s very friendly, and quite gracious.

12:45 p.m. – Still no Kat Dennings… grrrrr….

12:49 p.m. – Leslie Mann just showed up.  She looks amazing in this striking green dress.  She comes over right away and signs for everyone.  I’ve met her before and I have to say, she is always very sweet.  I got her on my 17 Again poster.  It’s just something I had…. Apparently, I’m going to collect the entire cast, and wasn’t even aware of it.  LOL…

1:03 p.m. – Well, it looks like the press is packing it in.  Hmmmm I guess Kat Dennings is a no show.  That sucks… She’s the one I really wanted.

1:23 p.m. – Okay, they are really tearing down the barricades now.  Dammit!  Sigh… I guess there is always another day… oh well…

Grrrr, I just found out Kat Dennings was there and I missed her pulling up… grrrrrrrr times two!  This is one of the problems when only a few collectors’ show up… People get missed.  Sigh…
