This is going to be a very very long day.  I am not really looking forward to it, but so it begins.  Sigh… Tom Cruise, Snow Patrol and Gabriel Macht  from the new movie The Spirit are all guests on Jimmy Kimmel and I am here trying to get Tom on my Details magazine (I also got one for my sister), Snow Patrol on my Final Straw flat and my Take Back the City 7” vinyl and I also have a Spirit mini poster for Gabriel Macht.  Let’s see how this goes.

3:00 p.m. – So, I’m here.  There are about 4 other people already in front of me.  Apparently, Tom already did a quick segment on the show but is coming back tonight to do the interview.  So now… we just wait.

3:12 p.m. – Security made us leave the spot we were all lined up at and will have to be in later to move to the other side of the alley…For no reason.  Okay, this is going to be bad later on.

3:15 p.m. – Thank God it’s a nice day.  People are all starting to arrive, and I suspect it will get really crowded.

3:33 p.m. – People have posters, photos all kinds of stuff for Tom Cruise.  I think I’m the only one here for Snow Patrol though.  They are actually the main reason I’m here.  I do want Tom, and I’m hoping to get something signed for my sister who always bitches I never get her anything.  LOL…

4:00 p.m. – My friend Duggan just got here and got me some pizza.  Whoo Hoo Pizza, nothing like eating healthy.  All I have had to eat is a bowl of Sugar Smacks, so this will be lunch and dinner.  Yep, healthy.

4:55 p.m. – There are about 22 people here. Some Snow Patrol fans, but mainly people here for Tom.  Most people are friendly, but I’m bracing myself for chaos as the night continues.

5:14 p.m. – I just talked to my grandmother on the phone, and she is praying I get an autograph.  Tell me that’s not cute!

5:44 p.m. – Security is motioning for everyone to move to the other side.  What was once a nice orderly line has turned into Chariots of Fire.  Everyone runs to the other side, as security tells them to stop.  No one listens. People line up on the other end, people walk backwards with the guard rail.  Oh my God, this is crazy.  This is what my life has amounted to… running with a barricade.

6:13 p.m. – Snow Patrol arrive.  They give a light wave to the people assembled and go inside.  So much for catching them going in.

6:19 p.m. – So, I am in the second row.  People are huddled up together and generally are crowded and uncomfortable.  Many people are really cool, and then the rest.  Assholes.

6:33 p.m. – Gabriel gets here.  People yell for him, but he just walks inside.

6:44 p.m. – 0 for 2!  LOL…Oh wait, the gates on the other end are opening.  Tom is arriving. Suddenly, it’s like rats scurrying for the last piece of cheese, people are everywhere, hanging over the fence, dangling crap over the railing.  I mean really it is a crazy scene.

6:49 p.m. – Tom arrives.  He is very cool.  He comes over and signs for a bunch of people.  For some reason he keeps missing my magazine.  People are shoving.  Pushing and just being, for lack of a more eloquent word.  Dicks.  I need to stop getting around; I think I’m getting bitter.

6:59 p.m. – Tom signs a bunch, but of course he misses me completely.  Dammit!  Oh well.  Hopefully, he will sign on the way out.  This one guy jabbed me in the side the entire time Tom was signing, and left me with bruises.  Seriously.

7:13 p.m. – The ever lovely as always Erica is here now.  She’s keeping me slightly sane, as I hate crowds, and I’m slightly claustrophobic.  This does not look good for me.

7:15 p.m. – They are showing Tom’s interview on the outside screen for the people waiting for Snow Patrol.  He really does seem like a cool guy.  I know you hear all the stories and random things about him from the press, but in person he seems… well… normal.

7:34 p.m. – Tom’s out again.  The people are mad and crazy.  Jumping over the fence, slamming into the barricade.  He comes my way, but misses me yet again.  I figure screw this.  I run to the other side of the fence.  I jump up, and thank God I’m tall, I throw my hand over the side with my magazine.

7:36 p.m. – Tom’s coming by and he is literally about to sign it, when… he stops to sign something else.  No shit!  He then stops, and comes back to my magazine so at least I got that signed.

7:38 p.m. – I run to the other end to try and get a second one for my sister, but he’s finished signing.  So, I only got the one.  Erica was completely shut out.

7:44 p.m. – Like after a battle everyone is comparing war stories.  I am just so shocked that I went through all that.  Ugh… It was a nightmare, a blooming nightmare.  Like rats feeding off a dead animals carcass and I totally became one of the feeding rats.  Dude… What does this say about our society!  Ugh…

7:55 p.m. – Gabriel Macht is out now, people are calling him over.  There are only about 10 people left though so it’s pretty uneventful.  I got a pic with him and my Spirit poster signed.  Erica got her poster signed as well.

8:15 p.m. – Snow Patrol just came out to start their set.  I love them, but I haven’t had anything to eat, I’ve been standing since 3 o’clock and want to go home.  I want them to finish so I can get them to sign my poster, and I want to get some soup.  Soup is good food.  HEH.

8:22 p.m. – Erica is so sweet, she staying with me.  Everyone else left, it’s just us.

8:25 p.m. – Snow Patrol just started into their set.  They did the new single which I like.

8:28 p.m. – They are now doing Take Back the City, my favorite track from the new album.

8:33 p.m. – I kind of hope they are done now, especially for Erica’s sake because she doesn’t even know who they are.

8:40 p.m. – Nope! They just did two more songs.

8:44 p.m. – They are doing their last song, Chasing Cars.  I have to say, they sound great!

8:49 p.m. – I feel a heard stomping in the distance.  Everyone from the concert is running over here.  I tell Erica to brace for impact.  She does so.

8:53 p.m. – Okay, so where there was once just the two of us, there are now about 30.  LOL, everyone is super cool though.

9:02 p.m. – Here they come.  Gary, Johnny, and Tom are coming over.  They are all very nice.  I got a pic with Gary, and got them to sign my poster and vinyl.  Gary especially is really taking his time with all the fans and is quite gracious.

9:15 p.m. – Unfortunately, Paul and Nathan didn’t come over, so my flat and single are only partially finished.  It’s so hard to get an entire band.  That frustrates me so much.  I’m not complaining… well, maybe a little.  Just a little complaint.

This was a very long day.  Thank God Erica showed up and helped me keep my sanity.  It worked out okay, but I don’t know how people do this everyday, because it would really wear on me if I had to deal with people like that on a constant and/or daily basis.  It’s time for some Campbell’s soup, and a good night’s sleep.  Oh, and thanks to my grandmother for praying! ;)

Check out all of the Tom Cruise, Snow Patrol, Gabriel Macht signing report pics.
